A Journey from Curiosity to Confidence

At AMSAI, every stage of learning is carefully designed to build strong foundations while nurturing creativity, confidence, and values. Our curriculum follows the South African CAPS curriculum and is enriched with extra opportunities in arts, sports, and life skills, ensuring children are fully prepared for the world ahead.

Our holistic approach blends academic excellence with character development, ensuring that every learner grows intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. From our Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre to our senior primary classes, we foster a love for learning and a sense of belonging in every child.

Grade RR – R: The Foundation Years

The first step in a child’s formal education is about more than ABCs and numbers — it’s about sparking joy in learning. In these early years, our focus is on play-based discovery and emotional development, laying the groundwork for lifelong curiosity.

Focus Areas:

  • Early literacy and numeracy skills

  • Music, art, and movement for creative expression

  • Play-based activities that develop problem-solving

  • Social and emotional learning in a nurturing environment

  • Nutritious meals and outdoor play

Grade 1 – 3: Building Strong Foundations

The junior primary years are where curiosity begins to take shape as knowledge. We introduce structured academics while still encouraging exploration, ensuring learners build confidence in the basics.

Focus Areas:

  • Literacy and numeracy fluency

  • Introduction to natural and social sciences

  • Creative arts and storytelling

  • Physical education, games, and teamwork

  • Values-based lessons that build empathy and responsibility

Grade 4 – 7: Preparing for the Future

In the senior primary years, learners gain independence, responsibility, and the skills to thrive in high school and beyond. Our programme develops academic rigour alongside leadership and resilience.

Focus Areas:

  • Advanced literacy, mathematics, and problem-solving

  • Science, technology, and critical thinking

  • Creative arts and cultural activities

  • Physical education, sports, and martial arts

  • Leadership training, life skills, and community projects

Beyond the Classroom

At every stage, AMSAI learners have access to enriching experiences that set them apart:

  • Martial Arts & Sports – for discipline, teamwork, and fitness
